jdub702 THAT I COULD USE OR WANT!!!

i found a gun dealer at the show who bought just about the whole collection!!!

so i recouped most of my cash---got a couple slightly used shotguns in the deal that i could use--and made a friend of the gun dealer and his wife!!!

    what a nice couple!!!

so once again a positive and memorable experience at a gun show!!!

SO, YES JIM, I HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED ON OCCASION AT A FEW LOCAL GUN SHOWS---but quite honestly if you have a less than positive experience---in a few weeks there will be another gun show!!!!

    thats my story

im just lucky to have this new hobby and lucky to live somewhere that allows me to play at this hobby!!

    jdub702 hey jim

i just love gun shows---usually the big ones, crossroads of the west or any other one at cashman center--are the best, but ive had good luck at the sports center on sunset, a few times as well!!!!

ive learned over the years that if its something specific im looking for, ill be a lot happier if i order it on line, and ill get it a lot quicker!!!

but to see guns and buy guns----i like the gun shows---and ive met a lot of people(dealers) at the shows, some of whom are locals etc

and they all take trade-ins, and thats a big thing for me also---SINCE MY WIFE AND I MADE A DEAL A FEW YEARS AGO, THAT IF I WANT ANOTHER GUN, I HAVE TO SELL(TRADE) ONE!!!!

    NOT A BAD DEAL!!!

and this weekend was a big weekend at the show----i had bought a gun collection from a family member and it was primarily cowboy revolvers, lever action rifles, coach gun shotguns, and a few other items----and being a IDPA and USPSA PISTOL SHOOTER---and a new shotgunner---there wasnt really anything in the collection that i cou...    less

one thing i wanted to mention---the wood uprights that i found when buying the parts at lowes---were exactly the right size to fit into the pvc tubing----WITHOUT SANDING OR PLANING---were usable but not really the correct choice-----because they were chip core and very dense which made stapling the cardboard(or even paper) targets to them---less than desirable----the staples didnt go far enough in etc
so yesterday---at home depot---i found 8 foot wood uprights---that i will cut in half---and luckily they were the right width so they will slide into the pvc tubing---no problem---and be soft enough to accept the staples and hold the target more se...    less
