I had to make a 9:15p run to CVS for my wife's allergy meds. When I walked in there was a homeless man near the door, reading or checking something. I got a look at him from behind and the side and he set off my spidey sense. He was flithy, over-dressed (enough coat on to sleep outside) and stunk. He was also big, 6ft, 200+lbs. He and I were the lone customers in the store.
I got the meds, headed to the front and he had moved to the area directly in front of the checkout, almost as if he was inline to check out. When I saw that he had a few items stacked on top of a display and he was reading something, I paused for a second and then walked around him and started to check out.
The two girls behind the register were talking about doing inventory and one of them stuttered about a products location.
From behind me (10ft) and over my left shoulder I hear homeless guy get loud and repeat the woman's stutter. I mean LOUD! He proceeds to make some gibberish talk for about 20 seconds, He makes me nervous....
There are also some movement noises, so I look at him and he is making eye contact, but not moving toward me, more of a in-place shuffle. Body language is not relaxed, halfway to jumpy.
I look back to pay, I can feel him watching me, wallet and G26 are both on my left hip, so I hitch up my pants, put my wallet and "may" have let me GLOCK be seen, just a little. When I put my wallet back I also pulled my shirt tight and I know the butt of my 12rd mags do stick out a bit.
When I turned to leave, homeless guy was quiet, eyes down, body turned slightly away. I stopped at the door the look at a display and watched him in the reflection. He never took his eyes off the back of my head.
I think idiot homeless guy was up to no good, maybe just hassling customers, but still no good.
I think the view of my pistol calmed him down a bit.
