I recently (Aug 29th, 2011) had a total right hip replacement. For the first week I was in the VA hospital (on base) so CCW was a impossible. When I got home I looked at my options, and since I was basically bed ridden for a week, I put my G30 at arm reach and called it "good enough".
Now that I am walking with a walker, (when I used my cane last year a lot, IWB was still a good option) getting around pretty good and I start to drive again this week I have decided that my SmartCarry, worn a little higher than normal to aviod the stiches, is my best option. With my little Kahr MK9, I can carry with confidence and not feel under-gunned.
I would like to hear from other walking wounded. How have you carried in the past when you are recouping from a major injury?
