My First Gun Show was a Success.
I set up a display at my first gun show this past weekend, to promote FirearmsCommunity.com. The attendance to the show seemed rather slow, and was confirmed by some of the other venders who display at this show regularly. However, it was a good experience for me. I learned a few things, and will make some adjustments before my next show, which will be in a few weeks.
I walked around the show floor occasionally, for two reasons. First, I wanted to see if people might feel more comfortable approaching my table and looking at the information if I was not there. And second, I then had the opportunity to talk with some the other venders. I met many nice people, and made a few good contacts.
Most people walked on by my table, or were not interested when I tried to talk to them. While some were interested enough to take a promotional card. A few were interested on their own, and asked me what my display was about.
I was wondering how successful the show was going to prove to be since so few people showed an interest. None-the-less, I was pleased when I received 12 new members by the end of the day after the show. And not just people signing up, but people actually becoming active members. I mean adding profile photos, filling out profile details, even commenting and submitting Forum posts. Thank you to all the new members. And a special thank you to those members who told friends about FirearmsCommunity.com.
