Living the Armed Lifestyle
My name is Ed Pierce, I live in Las Vegas Nevada. I enjoy firearms for self-defense and sport. I believe any serious study of the second amendment, and the writers original intent, shows our founding fathers intended the citizens of the United States of America to have the individual right to own and possess firearms.
I am writing this Blog to share my personal insights, experiences, lessons learned, and new discoveries. I will do my best to have a new blog posted every Tuesday where I will always try to leave the reader with something they can take away, something they can learn, from my real life experiences as an avid firearm enthusiast.
I got seriously interested in firearms after my first four day defensive handgun course at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. Once I became trained and more comfortable with a handgun, and was ready to accept the responsibility, I began to carry concealed for personal protection. Then in order to continue my enjoyment of shooting, and to become more proficient, I became involved in the shooting sports. I regularly participate in such handgun sports as IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge. I am slowly becoming interested in multi-gun.
I belong to the Desert Sportsman Rifle and Pistol Club (DSRPC). This is where I regularly participate in the shooting sports, and go by myself or with with friends to practice. Desert Sportsman in home to many sport shooting disciplines, and many State and National level matches.
There are many good organizations that fight to protect our Second Amendment rights. I currently support primarily the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners of Nevada, and the Armed Citizen Legal Defense Network.
I keep up on firearm information by reading magazines. A few that I read regularly are: First Freedom from the NRA, Tactical Journal (the official magazine of the IDPA), Front Sight (the official magazine of the USPSA), and Concealed Carry Magazine from the USCCA.
I also enjoy watching videos from the Personal Defense Network DVD Series produced by the Second amendment Foundation, YouTube, and ACLDN.
